To the Dad Working Extra Hours

As a SAHM, I am guilty of focusing on all the things I do during the day which Daddy doesn’t get to help with. Whether it’s cleaning, changing diapers, fixing dinner or simply just keeping the kids alive, I easily become consumed with the tasks to check off on my to-do list. I have recently been thinking about the things that occupy Daddy’s plate?

Embracing the Chaos

Life is full of chaos. There’s no way to avoid it, which is truly difficult to accept for someone with a Type A personality. I like things to stick to a plan and no matter how hard I try, when things start to go awry, I stress.

I found these awesome paint tools and could not wait to test them out with Moose and Fox. Last Friday, I gathered our paints, paint tools, some white poster board, and clothes pins to hang our “canvases” and gathered the troops to head outside.

Easy Coffee and Baileys Layer Cake

I am a self-proclaimed foodie in progress. I am not trained nor educated in culinary arts, but I enjoy testing my hand at new challenges in the kitchen. The End of the Pinterest Mom

First and foremost, I want to start off by saying I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Pinterest and will most likely continue to use Pinterest quite frequently. I love the accessibility it provides to a vast assortment of topics; even ones for which you didn’t realize you were looking.

What I want to confess about my end of the Pinterest mom, is I don’t have it all together. (To quote 10 Things I Hate About You) Not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all.

Dear Little One, Teach Me to Love

Upon having kids, you begin to see the world differently. With every breath they take, every milestone marker they reach, you discover something new along the way. Moose and Fox are at ages now where they love to play- ALL THE TIME. And what’s more fun than playing with someone new? One trip to the park with a toddler and you will instantly reevaluate the way you love.

I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

?What would you think if I sang out of tune
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I’ll sing you a song
And I’ll try not to sing out of key
Oh I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm gonna try with a little help from my friends?

Originally sung by The Beatles but perhaps made most famous by Joe Cocker’s opening rendition for the Wonder Years (at least in my humble opinion); as soon as I hear the tune I immediately start to replay the footage of Kevin playing with Paul and Winnie Cooper. Throughout high school we all probably had those go to friendships for when our world just didn’t seem right. Why is that as grown adults, we shy away from sharing our problems with one another? Perhaps, we don’t want to burden others with our troubles; or we’re afraid of the judgement on our not so perfect life  Truth be told, none of us are perfect (shocking revelation, I know)
